Učim jezik srpski. Potrebna mi je pomoć.

“I’m learning Serbian. I need help.” My boyfriend is Bosnian and I decided a while ago that I wanted to learn his native language. Mostly because I was tired of not knowing what was going on when we were spending time with his friends. For the most part they would speak in English, but every once in a while they would slip into Bosnian or Serbo-Croat when they were talking about certain things. And there I was sitting quietly with a smile on my face missing out on the fun. Since I am nosy and don’t like being left out I figured I should learn the language.

I bought myself the “Teach yourself Serbian” book and CD pack at Borders and I’ve been studying it as often as possible. It’s pretty good because it has pronunciation and you learn how to read and write in both the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets. Yes, you read correctly there are two alphabets. The Latin is easy, it’s pretty close to English with a few more letters. Reading the Cyrillic alphabet gives me a bit of a headache after a while, but I’m getting better at it.

Alžan (my boyfriend) helps me from time to time, but it would be nice to meet someone else who is trying to learn the language so that we can learn together. I’m a visual learner so using email would be a great way for me to practice. If there’s someone that is learning Serbian or Bosnian, or a Bosnian, Croatian, or Serbian who would like to work on their English I would meet you. Well thanks in advance.
